Issues which may have originated with your ancestors can show up as:
- Nervous System and reflexive responses
- Relational patterns (attachment style which impacts parenting capacity, love language)
- Collective and social norms
- Depression, anxiety, other emotional and mental health issues, suicidality etc.
- Physical pains
- Disproportionate responses to stimuli (and struggle to understand why)
- Unconscious issues may centre around the following themes:
- Separation – including feelings of disconnection, isolation, abandonment, fear, betrayal, emptiness
- Invisibility – rejection, low self esteem, feeling like you do not belonging
- Secrets – hidden or unacknowledged aspects of family history
- Unfulfilled destiny – unfulfilled purpose, dreams being held back, generally feeling stuck in life
It started long before you :
Most of our issues have not originated with us, but are inherited from those that came before us. Ancestral healing is about recognising this fact and working to bring about change (often profound) utilising what is described as a powerful healing modality.
We are our ancestors
Ancestral healing recognises that the experiences, both positive and negative, of those that came before us is encoded and passed down to us via our DNA and epigenetics (and that we are in that respect our ancestors).
Inheriting Ancestral Gifts and Burdens
We inherit both gifts and burdens from our ancestor.
Gifts: Your gifts may include talents in the kitchen a love for adventure and travel, an ability to commune with different elements in nature.
Burdens: Ancestral burdens speak about those emotions, feelings, beliefs and energies generated as a result of unprocessed adversity experienced by those that came before us and which have passed down the family lineage.
Modern science now confirms our inheritance of ancestral experiences including adversity, trauma, gifts, memories, beliefs, nervous system responses etc.
Ancestral healing is about identifying the issues that are negatively impacting you in the present, unearthing and understanding the past influences in its development. It might also mean uncovering/understanding how it is being expressed in your life currently as fate, in turn, freeing you to make choices and walk toward your destiny instead.

If you feel drawn to working with me, it’s likely that I’ve been through some similar issue or my experience means I’m able to empathise and support you fully with whatever it is that brings you to therapy.I have worked with numerous agencies and with a wide range of issues including from anxiety through to relationship issues and trauma including racial, sexual and intergenerational and everything in between.
I work in a deeply soulful, creative intuitive way drawing on a range of therapeutic and energetic approaches/modalities in delivering ancestral healing. These can include with prior agreement: Counselling, Hypnotherapy, Internal Family Systems Model, Systemic and Ancestral Family Constellations, Visualisations including Journeying/Retrieval. I work cognitively with the mind, somatically with the body and psycho-spiritually with you as spirit/soul (if the concept resonates with you)ensuring you feel able to bring your full self into sessions
